Isaiah

Chapter 59

1 BEHOLD, the LORD'S hand is not so short, that it cannot save; neither is his ear dull that it cannot hear;

2 But it is your iniquities that have separated you and your God; and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue mutters wickedness.

4 There is no one who calls for justice, neither is there any one who judges faithfully; they trust in vanity and speak lies; they conceive iniquity and bring forth grief.

5 They hatch adder's eggs, and weave a spider's web; he who eats of their eggs shall die, and those which hatch out will be found to be vipers.

6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works; their works are works of iniquity, and acts of violence are in their hands.

7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; plunder and destruction are in their paths.

8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no justice in their ways; they have made their paths crooked; whosoever walks in them shall not know peace.

9 Therefore justice is far from us, and righteousness does not overtake us; we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.

10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope like men who have no eyes; we stumble at noonday as in the night; we groan as those who are near death.

11 We all roar like bears, and mourn sore like doves; we look for justice, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.

12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us; our iniquities are with us, and our sins are well known:

13 Transgressing and lying against the LORD, turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and devising in our heart words of falsehood.

14 Judgment is turned backward, and righteousness stands afar off; for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.

15 Yea, truth is hid, and understanding has departed from our mind; the LORD saw that there was no justice, and he was displeased.

16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no one to help; therefore his arm brought salvation to him, and his righteousness sustained him.

17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing,

18 That he may seek vengeance upon those who hate him, and retribution to his adversaries, and to the islands he will render recompense.

19 So shall they revere the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. For the oppressor shall come in like a flood, and the Spirit of the LORD shall humble him.

20 And a Saviour shall come to Zion, and to those who turn from transgression in Jacob, says the LORD.

21 As for me, this is my covenant with you, says the LORD: my spirit that is upon you, and my words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your descendants, nor out of the mouth of your descendant's descendants, says the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

1 Послушайте, Господь достаточно могуществен, чтобы вас спасти, Он слышит вас, когда вы о помощи просите Его.

2 Но ваши грехи отдаляют вас от Бога, Господь видит ваши грехи и отворачивается от вас.

3 Ваши руки запачканы кровью, ваши уста лгут и злы языки.

4 Никто не говорит правды, люди преследуют друг друга в суде и представляют ложные доказательства, чтобы выиграть дело. Они лгут друг о друге, они полны смуты и порождают зло.

5 Они высиживают зло, как ядовитые змеи высиживают яйца, если съешь хоть одно, то умрёшь, а если разобьёшь, то из него выползает змеёныш. Люди лгут, и ложь их опутывает как паутина.

6 Но эта паутина не может быть им одеждой, они не могут прикрыться ею. Иные люди творят зло, и лишь боль приносят другим.

7 Ноги несут их быстро к злу, они спешат, чтобы убить невинных людей. Их помыслы нечестивы, воровство и дебош — их образ жизни.

8 Те люди не знают, как жить в мире, не ведают о праведности и чести. Человек, живущий подобно им, никогда не обретёт мира.

9 Исчезли доброта и справедливость, вокруг одна лишь тьма, в ней мы ожидаем света, надеясь, что он будет ярок, пока ж во мраке пребываем.

10 Мы как без глаз и натыкаемся на стены, как слепые спотыкаемся и падаем словно в ночи, даже днём мы не видим и в полдень падаем словно мёртвые.

11 Мы жалуемся непрестанно: стонем печально как голуби, ревём как медведи, ждём справедливости, но нет её. Мы ожидаем спасения, но оно далеко.

12 Потому что совершили мы много преступлений против Бога, и они говорят о нашей неправедности. Мы знаем, что повинны в своих грехах.

13 Мы восстали против Господа и солгали Ему, мы от Него отвернулись и покинули Его. Мы замышляли зло против других и противились Богу нашему. Вынашивая грех в сердцах, мы злые планы составляли.

14 От нас отступила правда, от нас ушла справедливость, пала на улицах истина, и доброте запрещено входить в этот город.

15 Верность исчезла, ограблены те, кто стремился к добру. Господь посмотрел и не смог справедливость отыскать, и это опечалило Его.

16 Он не смог найти человека, который другим помогает. И тогда Он Своей добротой и могуществом спас людей.

17 Господь надел доспехи правосудия, шлем спасения, одежды наказания и плащ великой любви.

18 Господь на врагов в гневе, и Он им воздаст наказанием заслуженным. Он накажет и тех, кто на побережье живёт.

19 Тогда люди на западе и на востоке в страхе начнут почитать славу Его. Он придёт быстро, словно река, которую подгоняет ветер Господний.

20 Тогда придёт на Сион Спаситель, придёт к людям Иакова, которые грешили, но вернулись к Богу.

21 Господь говорит: «Я заключу с этими людьми соглашение. Я обещаю, что Мой Дух и Мои слова, которые Я вкладываю в вас, никогда вас не оставят и будут в ваших детях и в детях ваших детей, они будут с вами отныне и вовеки».

8 Те люди не знают, как жить в мире, не ведают о праведности и чести. Человек, живущий подобно им, никогда не обретёт мира.

9 Therefore justice is far from us, and righteousness does not overtake us; we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.

9 Исчезли доброта и справедливость, вокруг одна лишь тьма, в ней мы ожидаем света, надеясь, что он будет ярок, пока ж во мраке пребываем.

15 Верность исчезла, ограблены те, кто стремился к добру. Господь посмотрел и не смог справедливость отыскать, и это опечалило Его.

16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no one to help; therefore his arm brought salvation to him, and his righteousness sustained him.

16 Он не смог найти человека, который другим помогает. И тогда Он Своей добротой и могуществом спас людей.

17 Господь надел доспехи правосудия, шлем спасения, одежды наказания и плащ великой любви.

18 Господь на врагов в гневе, и Он им воздаст наказанием заслуженным. Он накажет и тех, кто на побережье живёт.

19 Тогда люди на западе и на востоке в страхе начнут почитать славу Его. Он придёт быстро, словно река, которую подгоняет ветер Господний.

21 Господь говорит: «Я заключу с этими людьми соглашение. Я обещаю, что Мой Дух и Мои слова, которые Я вкладываю в вас, никогда вас не оставят и будут в ваших детях и в детях ваших детей, они будут с вами отныне и вовеки».
