1 And Abraham85 journeyed5265 from thence4480 8033 toward the south5045 country,776 and dwelled3427 between996 Kadesh6946 and Shur,7793 and sojourned1481 in Gerar.1642

2 And Abraham85 said559 of413 Sarah8283 his wife,802 She1931 is my sister:269 and Abimelech40 king4428 of Gerar1642 sent,7971 and took3947 853 Sarah.8283

3 But God430 came935 to413 Abimelech40 in a dream2472 by night,3915 and said559 to him, Behold,2009 thou art but a dead man,4191 for5921 the woman802 which834 thou hast taken;3947 for she1931 is a man's1167 wife.1166

4 But Abimelech40 had not3808 come near7126 413 her: and he said,559 Lord,136 wilt thou slay2026 also1571 a righteous6662 nation?1471

5 Said559 he1931 not3808 unto me, She1931 is my sister?269 and she,1931 even1571 she herself1931 said,559 He1931 is my brother:251 in the integrity8537 of my heart3824 and innocency5356 of my hands3709 have I done6213 this.2063

6 And God430 said559 unto413 him in a dream,2472 Yea,1571 I595 know3045 that3588 thou didst6213 this2063 in the integrity8537 of thy heart;3824 for I595 also1571 withheld2820 thee from sinning4480 2398 against me: therefore5921 3651 suffered5414 I thee not3808 to touch5060 413 her.

7 Now6258 therefore restore7725 the man376 his wife;802 for3588 he1931 is a prophet,5030 and he shall pray6419 for1157 thee, and thou shalt live:2421 and if518 thou restore7725 her not,369 know3045 thou that3588 thou shalt surely die,4191 4191 thou,859 and all3605 that834 are thine.

8 Therefore Abimelech40 rose early7925 in the morning,1242 and called7121 all3605 his servants,5650 and told1696 853 all3605 these428 things1697 in their ears:241 and the men376 were sore afraid.3372 3966

9 Then Abimelech40 called7121 Abraham,85 and said559 unto him, What4100 hast thou done6213 unto us? and what4100 have I offended2398 thee, that3588 thou hast brought935 on5921 me and on5921 my kingdom4467 a great1419 sin?2401 thou hast done6213 deeds4639 unto5973 me that834 ought not3808 to be done.6213

10 And Abimelech40 said559 unto413 Abraham,85 What4100 sawest7200 thou, that3588 thou hast done6213 853 this2088 thing?1697

11 And Abraham85 said,559 Because3588 I thought,559 Surely7535 the fear3374 of God430 is not369 in this2088 place;4725 and they will slay2026 me for5921 my wife's802 sake.1697

12 And yet1571 indeed546 she is my sister;269 she1931 is the daughter1323 of my father,1 but389 not3808 the daughter1323 of my mother;517 and she became1961 my wife.802

13 And it came to pass,1961 when834 God430 caused me to wander8582 from my father's house,4480 1004 1 that I said559 unto her, This2088 is thy kindness2617 which834 thou shalt show6213 unto5973 me; at413 every3605 place4725 whither834 8033 we shall come,935 say559 of me, He1931 is my brother.251

14 And Abimelech40 took3947 sheep,6629 and oxen,1241 and menservants,5650 and womenservants,8198 and gave5414 them unto Abraham,85 and restored7725 him853 Sarah8283 his wife.802

15 And Abimelech40 said,559 Behold,2009 my land776 is before6440 thee: dwell3427 where it pleaseth2896 5869 thee.

16 And unto Sarah8283 he said,559 Behold,2009 I have given5414 thy brother251 a thousand505 pieces of silver:3701 behold,2009 he1931 is to thee a covering3682 of the eyes,5869 unto all3605 that834 are with854 thee, and with854 all3605 other: thus she was reproved.3198

17 So Abraham85 prayed6419 unto413 God:430 and God430 healed7495 853 Abimelech,40 and his wife,802 and his maidservants;519 and they bore3205 children.

18 For3588 the LORD3068 had fast closed up6113 6113 1157 all3605 the wombs7358 of the house1004 of Abimelech,40 because5921 1697 of Sarah8283 Abraham's85 wife.802

2 и там говорил о Сарре, жене своей, что она его сестра. Тогда и случилось, что Авимелех, царь герарский, послал за Саррой и велел привести ее к нему во дворец.

3 Но Бог явился Авимелеху ночью во сне и сказал ему: «Знай, на смерть ты обрек себя тем, что взял себе эту женщину: она замужем».

4 Авимелех (а он еще и не прикасался к ней) стал возражать: «Владыка мой! Ты ведь не уничтожишь неповинный народ?

5 Не сам ли человек этот сказал мне: „Она сестра моя“? И даже она говорила: „Он брат мой“. Со спокойной совестью я это сделал, и руки мои чисты».

6 «Я знаю, — ответил ему Бог во сне, — что ты сделал это со спокойной совестью. На самом же деле это Я удержал тебя от греха предо Мною, потому и не дал тебе прикоснуться к ней.

7 Но теперь верни ее мужу. Он пророк: помолится о тебе, и ты будешь жив. А если не возвратишь, то знай, что ты со всеми твоими людьми обречен на смерть».

8 Рано утром Авимелех спешно собрал всех слуг своих, и, когда пересказал им всё, что той ночью услышал, сильный страх овладел всеми.

9 Позвал Авимелех к себе Авраама и с упреком спросил его: «Зачем ты так поступил с нами? Какое я сделал тебе зло, что ты вовлек меня и царство мое в столь великий грех? Не ожидал я, что ты так поступишь со мной!»

10 Обиженный на Авраама, Авимелех продолжал спрашивать его: «Что заставило тебя пойти на это?»

11 «Я подумал, — ответил Авраам, — что в этих местах не боятся Бога и меня могут убить из-за жены;

12 к тому же она и в самом деле сестра мне, дочь отца моего (хоть и от другой матери), и я женился на ней.

13 И когда Бог велел мне покинуть дом отца моего и отправиться в странствие, я сказал ей: „Если желаешь мне добра, то, куда бы мы ни пришли, говори всем, что я твой брат“».

14 Авимелех возвратил Аврааму его жену Сарру, а также одарил его стадами овец и крупного рогатого скота, рабами и рабынями

15 и сказал: «Земля моя пред тобою: где тебе угодно, там и живи».

16 А Сарре царь сказал: «Тысячу шекелей серебра я даю „брату“ твоему: пусть это будет тебе возмещением за всё случившееся с тобой; ты во всем чиста».

17 После того помолился Авраам Богу, и исцелил Бог Авимелеха и жену его, и рабынь его, и те вновь смогли рожать,

18 ибо сделал ГОСПОДЬ бесплодными всех в доме Авимелеха из-за Сарры, жены Авраама.

2 и там говорил о Сарре, жене своей, что она его сестра. Тогда и случилось, что Авимелех, царь герарский, послал за Саррой и велел привести ее к нему во дворец.

3 But God430 came935 to413 Abimelech40 in a dream2472 by night,3915 and said559 to him, Behold,2009 thou art but a dead man,4191 for5921 the woman802 which834 thou hast taken;3947 for she1931 is a man's1167 wife.1166

3 Но Бог явился Авимелеху ночью во сне и сказал ему: «Знай, на смерть ты обрек себя тем, что взял себе эту женщину: она замужем».

6 «Я знаю, — ответил ему Бог во сне, — что ты сделал это со спокойной совестью. На самом же деле это Я удержал тебя от греха предо Мною, потому и не дал тебе прикоснуться к ней.

7 Now6258 therefore restore7725 the man376 his wife;802 for3588 he1931 is a prophet,5030 and he shall pray6419 for1157 thee, and thou shalt live:2421 and if518 thou restore7725 her not,369 know3045 thou that3588 thou shalt surely die,4191 4191 thou,859 and all3605 that834 are thine.

7 Но теперь верни ее мужу. Он пророк: помолится о тебе, и ты будешь жив. А если не возвратишь, то знай, что ты со всеми твоими людьми обречен на смерть».

9 Позвал Авимелех к себе Авраама и с упреком спросил его: «Зачем ты так поступил с нами? Какое я сделал тебе зло, что ты вовлек меня и царство мое в столь великий грех? Не ожидал я, что ты так поступишь со мной!»

10 And Abimelech40 said559 unto413 Abraham,85 What4100 sawest7200 thou, that3588 thou hast done6213 853 this2088 thing?1697

10 Обиженный на Авраама, Авимелех продолжал спрашивать его: «Что заставило тебя пойти на это?»

11 And Abraham85 said,559 Because3588 I thought,559 Surely7535 the fear3374 of God430 is not369 in this2088 place;4725 and they will slay2026 me for5921 my wife's802 sake.1697

11 «Я подумал, — ответил Авраам, — что в этих местах не боятся Бога и меня могут убить из-за жены;

12 And yet1571 indeed546 she is my sister;269 she1931 is the daughter1323 of my father,1 but389 not3808 the daughter1323 of my mother;517 and she became1961 my wife.802

12 к тому же она и в самом деле сестра мне, дочь отца моего (хоть и от другой матери), и я женился на ней.

13 И когда Бог велел мне покинуть дом отца моего и отправиться в странствие, я сказал ей: „Если желаешь мне добра, то, куда бы мы ни пришли, говори всем, что я твой брат“».

14 Авимелех возвратил Аврааму его жену Сарру, а также одарил его стадами овец и крупного рогатого скота, рабами и рабынями

15 и сказал: «Земля моя пред тобою: где тебе угодно, там и живи».

17 So Abraham85 prayed6419 unto413 God:430 and God430 healed7495 853 Abimelech,40 and his wife,802 and his maidservants;519 and they bore3205 children.

17 После того помолился Авраам Богу, и исцелил Бог Авимелеха и жену его, и рабынь его, и те вновь смогли рожать,

18 For3588 the LORD3068 had fast closed up6113 6113 1157 all3605 the wombs7358 of the house1004 of Abimelech,40 because5921 1697 of Sarah8283 Abraham's85 wife.802

18 ибо сделал ГОСПОДЬ бесплодными всех в доме Авимелеха из-за Сарры, жены Авраама.
