1 IN the year that Tartan came to Ashdod (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him) and fought against Ashdod and took it, |
|
2 At that time the LORD spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off your loins and put off your shoes from your feet. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot. |
|
3 And the Lord said, As my servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot, so shall there be signs and wonders for three years upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia; |
|
4 So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt. |
|
5 And they shall be defeated and ashamed of Ethiopia their trust, and of Egypt their glory. |
|
6 And the inhabitants of this isle shall say on that day, Behold, here is our trust, to whom we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria; and how shall we escape? |

2 в год тот велел ГОСПОДЬ Исайе, сыну Амоца: «Сними с себя рубище и сандалии». Исайя так и сделал и стал ходить голым и босым. |

3 Тогда ГОСПОДЬ сказал: «То, что слуга Мой, Исайя, ходит три года голым и босым, — это знак и предзнаменование о Египте и Куше. |
|
4 Так поведет ассирийский царь пленников из Египта, захваченных в Куше, юных и старых, — голыми и босыми, совершенно неприкрытыми, в позор, в укоризну Египту. |
|
5 Тогда ужаснутся и устыдятся те, кто на Куш полагался, Египтом похвалялся. |
|
6 Скажут в тот день жители побережья филистимского: „Так вот на кого полагались мы, у кого искали помощи против царя ассирийского? Как же теперь спастись нам?!“» |
