Chapter 23

1 WOE to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! says the LORD.

2 Therefore thus speaks the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds who feed my people: You have scattered my flock, and have caused them to go astray, and have not visited them; behold, I will punish you according to your evil doings, says the LORD.

3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

4 And I will set shepherds over them who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be scattered nor shall they go astray, says the LORD.

5 Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will raise up for David a righteous Heir, and he shall reign over the kingdom with understanding, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

6 In his days Judah shall be saved and Israel shall dwell securely; and this is the name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

7 Therefore, the days are coming, says the LORD, when it shall never be said again, The LORD lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

8 But, The LORD lives, who brought up and led the house of Israel out of the north country and from all the countries where they had been scattered; and they shall dwell in their own land.

9 My heart is broken within me because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man and like a man who is overcome by wine, because of the presence of the LORD and because of the words of his holiness.

10 For the land is full of adulterers and robbers; because of these men the land mourns and the pastures of the shepherds in the wilderness are dried up, and their yield has been poor, and they did not flourish.

11 For both prophets and priests have become pagans; yea, even in my house have I found their wickedness, says the LORD.

12 Therefore their ways shall be to them as slippery ways in the darkness; they shall be driven on, and fall in them; for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their punishment, says the LORD.

13 And I have seen falsehood in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied by Baal and caused my people Israel to err.

14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem folly; they commit adultery and walk in lies; they strengthen also the hands of their friends, so that no one turns from his evil way; they are all of them to me like Sodom, and its inhabitants like Gomorrah.

15 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets: Behold. I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink bitter water; for from the prophets of Jerusalem paganism has gone forth throughout all the land.

16 Thus says the LORD of hosts: Do not hearken to the words of the false prophets who prophesy to you and mislead you; they tell a vision of the imagination of their own hearts, and not from the mouth of the LORD.

17 They say still to those who provoke me, The LORD has said, You shall have peace; and they say to every one who walks after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

18 For who has stood in the counsel of the LORD and has seen him and heard his word? or who has given ear to his word and heard him?

19 Behold, the punishment of the LORD is gone forth in fury, and the punishment will kindle; it shall fall upon the head of the wicked.

20 The wrathful indignation of the LORD shall not turn back until he has executed his devices, and till he has performed the thoughts of his mind; in the latter days you shall discern it perfectly.

21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they have gone forth; I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.

22 But if they had stood in my counsel and had caused my people to hear my words, then they would have turned them from their evil ways and from the evil of their doings.

23 I am the God who is near, says the LORD God, and not a God afar off.

24 If any man should hide himself in secret places, I will see him, says the LORD; behold, heaven and earth are filled with me, says the LORD of hosts.

25 I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed a dream.

26 How long shall there be in the mouth of the false prophets, prophecies of lies? prophecies of the deceit of their own heart?

27 Who think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name and served Baal.

28 The prophet who sees a dream, let him tell a dream; but he who has my words, let him speak my words faithfully. Why do you mix chaff with the wheat? says the LORD.

29 Behold, my words issue like a fire, says the LORD, and like a hammer which breaks the rock in pieces.

30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, who steal my words, every one from his neighbor.

31 Behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, who pervert their tongues, and say, Thus says the LORD.

32 Behold, I am against the prophets who see false dreams, says the LORD, and tell them, and lead my people astray by their lies and their wantonness; yet I did not command them nor send them; so they do not profit this people at all.

33 land when this people, or a prophet or a priest, shall ask you, and say to you, What is the word of the LORD? you shall say to them, This is the word of the LORD: I will utterly uproot you, says the LORD.

34 And as for the prophet or the priest or the people who shall speak the word of the LORD, I will punish that man and his house.

35 Thus shall you say every one to his neighbor, and every one to his brother: What has the LORD answered? and, What has the LORD spoken?

36 And the words of the LORD you shall mention no more; for every man's word shall be to him his prophecy, for you pervert the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God.

37 Thus shall you say to that person: What has the LORD answered you? and, What has the LORD spoken?

38 But if you speak the word of the LORD, therefore, thus says the LORD: Because you have said this word, The words of the LORD, and I have sent you, saying, You shall not say, The words of the LORD;

39 Therefore, behold, I will surely remove you, and I will cast you away, both you and the city that I gave to you and your fathers;

40 And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame which shall not be forgotten.

1 Таково слово ГОСПОДНЕ: «Горе пастырям, что губят и рассеивают овец Моего стада!»

2 Потому так говорит ГОСПОДЬ, Бог Израиля, о пастырях, что пасут народ Его: «Это вы рассеяли овец Моих и разогнали всё стадо. Не смотрели вы за ним. Потому теперь Я взыщу с вас за злодеяния ваши, — сие есть слово ГОСПОДА. —

3 Соберу Я остаток стада Моего из всех стран, в которые изгнал их, и верну на родные пажити, и станут они плодовитыми и многочисленными.

4 Я поставлю над ними пастырей, которые будут пасти их. Не будут более овцы Мои пребывать в страхе и ужасе, и ни одна из них не пропадет», — говорит ГОСПОДЬ.

5 «Придет время, — таково слово ГОСПОДНЕ, — когда Я возведу из рода царя Давида Росток праведности. Будет царь этот править мудро, творить правый суд на земле.

6 В дни его спасена будет Иудея, и народ Израиля будет жить в безопасности. Вот имя, которым его назовут: „ГОСПОДЬ — праведность наша“».

7 «Придет время, — говорит ГОСПОДЬ, — когда не станут более говорить: „Воистину жив ГОСПОДЬ, Который вывел потомков Израиля из Египта“,

8 но скажут: „Воистину жив ГОСПОДЬ, Который вывел потомство народа Израиля и привел его из земли северной и из всех земель, в которые изгнал их“. И будет народ Израиля жить на своей земле».

9 О пророках. Сердце мое разбито, всем телом своим я дрожу; я — словно пьяный, как от вина охмелевший, из-за ГОСПОДА, из-за слов Его святых.

10 «Потому что прелюбодеи заполнили землю — скорбит она от проклятья, степные пастбища выгорели. Идут они порочным путем, власть их неправедна.

11 Развратны пророк и священник, даже в Храме Моем вижу их злодеяния, — говорит ГОСПОДЬ. —

12 Потому скользким станет их путь, подобным зыбкой тропе во мраке, на которой будут теснить их — они будут падать, Я обрушу на них бедствия в час Моего возмездия, — таково слово ГОСПОДНЕ. —

13 Видел Я безрассудство самарийских пророков: именем Ваала пророчествовали они и народ Мой, Израиль, с пути истинного сбивали.

14 Вижу Я и отвратительные поступки иерусалимских пророков: они прелюбодействуют, живут во лжи, потворствуют нечестивым, вот никто и не прекращает творить злодеяний. Стали все они для Меня как Содом, а жители Иерусалима — как Гоморра».

15 Потому так говорит о пророках ГОСПОДЬ Воинств: «Полынью накормлю их, напою водой отравленной, ведь от иерусалимских пророков нечестие распространилось по всей земле».

16 Так говорит ГОСПОДЬ Воинств: «Не слушайте слов пророков этих, не внимайте их пророчествам, потому что они обманывают вас, передавая вам не слова ГОСПОДНИ, а свои собственные виденья.

17 Тем, кто отвергает Мои слова, они твердят: „Всё у вас будет благополучно!“, а тем, кто поступает по упрямству сердца своего, говорят: „Беда вас не постигнет“».

18 Но кто из них был на совете ГОСПОДА, кто видел и слышал Его слово, кто прислушался к слову Его и внял ему?

19 Вот разразилась ГОСПОДНЯ буря во всей ярости, вихрь бушующий поднялся, падет он на головы нечестивых.

20 Не стихнет гнев ГОСПОДЕНЬ, пока не исполнит и не совершит Он замысла сердца Своего. В конце времен вы постигнете это ясно.

21 «Я не посылал этих пророков, они пришли по своей воле, Я не обращался к ним, но они пророчествовали.

22 Будь они на совете Моем, возвестили бы слова Мои народу Моему, от греховного пути его отвратили и от злых его дел.

23 Неужели Я — Бог для вас только вблизи, — вопрошает ГОСПОДЬ, — а когда вдали от вас, Я уже не Бог Всемогущий?

24 Может ли человек укрыться в каком-нибудь потаенном месте, так что Я его не увижу? — говорит ГОСПОДЬ. — Не Мной ли полны небеса и земля? — вопрошает ГОСПОДЬ. —

25 Слышал Я, что говорили пророки, лживо вещающие от Моего имени: „Сон видел я, сон видел я!“

26 Сколько еще будут они вынашивать обман в своих сердцах, пророки, изрекающие ложь и собственные коварные замыслы?

27 Надеются они, что сновидениями своими, которые они пересказывают друг другу, заставят народ Мой забыть имя Мое; такое было уже: их праотцы забыли имя Мое ради Ваала.

28 Пророк, что видит сны, пусть и рассказывает сны, но тот, у кого на устах Мое слово, пусть верно передает его. Что общего между зерном и мякиной? — говорит ГОСПОДЬ. —

29 Огню подобно слово Мое, — говорит ГОСПОДЬ. — Оно как молот, сокрушающий скалы.

30 Потому Я порицаю этих пророков, — говорит ГОСПОДЬ, — за то, что крадут они друг у друга слова Мои.

31 Я порицаю этих пророков за то, — говорит ГОСПОДЬ, — что болтают языком своим и заявляют: „Так говорит ГОСПОДЬ“.

32 Я порицаю всех тех, кто свои лживые сны выдает за пророчества, — говорит ГОСПОДЬ, — и вводит народ Мой в заблуждение своим обманом и безрассудством, тогда как Я не посылал их и не повелевал им пророчествовать. Нет от них никакой пользы народу этому», — говорит ГОСПОДЬ.

33 «Если спросит тебя народ этот, или пророк, или священник: „Какое пророчество, какое тяжкое бремя дано тебе ГОСПОДОМ?“, отвечай им так: „Вы и есть это бремя, и Я вас низвергну“, — таково слово ГОСПОДА. —

34 А с того из пророков, священников и народа, кто лживо скажет: „Это наше пророчество от ГОСПОДА“, Я взыщу вместе со всем его семейством.

35 Спрашивайте друг у друга: „Что ответил ГОСПОДЬ и что Он сказал?“

36 Но о пророчестве Господа, о бремени ГОСПОДА более не упоминайте, потому что каждый свое собственное слово выдает за откровение, а слова Бога Живого, ГОСПОДА Воинств, Бога нашего искажает.

37 Просто спрашивайте пророка: „Что ответил ГОСПОДЬ, что Он сказал тебе?“

38 А на ваше утверждение, что „это пророчество ГОСПОДНЕ“, ГОСПОДЬ говорит так: „За то, что вы по-прежнему утверждаете, что у вас есть пророчество от ГОСПОДА, хотя Я посылал к вам того, кто сказал вам: „Не говорите более: „Это пророчество ГОСПОДНЕ“, —

39 за это Я забуду вас и удалю от Себя — и вас самих и тот город, что дал Я вам и отцам вашим.

40 Обреку Я вас на вечное поругание, на вечный позор, которые никогда не забудутся“».

8 но скажут: „Воистину жив ГОСПОДЬ, Который вывел потомство народа Израиля и привел его из земли северной и из всех земель, в которые изгнал их“. И будет народ Израиля жить на своей земле».

9 My heart is broken within me because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man and like a man who is overcome by wine, because of the presence of the LORD and because of the words of his holiness.

9 О пророках. Сердце мое разбито, всем телом своим я дрожу; я — словно пьяный, как от вина охмелевший, из-за ГОСПОДА, из-за слов Его святых.

23 I am the God who is near, says the LORD God, and not a God afar off.

23 Неужели Я — Бог для вас только вблизи, — вопрошает ГОСПОДЬ, — а когда вдали от вас, Я уже не Бог Всемогущий?

24 If any man should hide himself in secret places, I will see him, says the LORD; behold, heaven and earth are filled with me, says the LORD of hosts.

24 Может ли человек укрыться в каком-нибудь потаенном месте, так что Я его не увижу? — говорит ГОСПОДЬ. — Не Мной ли полны небеса и земля? — вопрошает ГОСПОДЬ. —

27 Надеются они, что сновидениями своими, которые они пересказывают друг другу, заставят народ Мой забыть имя Мое; такое было уже: их праотцы забыли имя Мое ради Ваала.

34 А с того из пророков, священников и народа, кто лживо скажет: „Это наше пророчество от ГОСПОДА“, Я взыщу вместе со всем его семейством.

35 Thus shall you say every one to his neighbor, and every one to his brother: What has the LORD answered? and, What has the LORD spoken?

35 Спрашивайте друг у друга: „Что ответил ГОСПОДЬ и что Он сказал?“

36 And the words of the LORD you shall mention no more; for every man's word shall be to him his prophecy, for you pervert the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God.

36 Но о пророчестве Господа, о бремени ГОСПОДА более не упоминайте, потому что каждый свое собственное слово выдает за откровение, а слова Бога Живого, ГОСПОДА Воинств, Бога нашего искажает.

37 Thus shall you say to that person: What has the LORD answered you? and, What has the LORD spoken?

37 Просто спрашивайте пророка: „Что ответил ГОСПОДЬ, что Он сказал тебе?“

38 But if you speak the word of the LORD, therefore, thus says the LORD: Because you have said this word, The words of the LORD, and I have sent you, saying, You shall not say, The words of the LORD;

38 А на ваше утверждение, что „это пророчество ГОСПОДНЕ“, ГОСПОДЬ говорит так: „За то, что вы по-прежнему утверждаете, что у вас есть пророчество от ГОСПОДА, хотя Я посылал к вам того, кто сказал вам: „Не говорите более: „Это пророчество ГОСПОДНЕ“, —
