Chapter 23

1 WOE to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! says the LORD.

2 Therefore thus speaks the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds who feed my people: You have scattered my flock, and have caused them to go astray, and have not visited them; behold, I will punish you according to your evil doings, says the LORD.

3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

4 And I will set shepherds over them who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be scattered nor shall they go astray, says the LORD.

5 Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will raise up for David a righteous Heir, and he shall reign over the kingdom with understanding, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

6 In his days Judah shall be saved and Israel shall dwell securely; and this is the name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

7 Therefore, the days are coming, says the LORD, when it shall never be said again, The LORD lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

8 But, The LORD lives, who brought up and led the house of Israel out of the north country and from all the countries where they had been scattered; and they shall dwell in their own land.

9 My heart is broken within me because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man and like a man who is overcome by wine, because of the presence of the LORD and because of the words of his holiness.

10 For the land is full of adulterers and robbers; because of these men the land mourns and the pastures of the shepherds in the wilderness are dried up, and their yield has been poor, and they did not flourish.

11 For both prophets and priests have become pagans; yea, even in my house have I found their wickedness, says the LORD.

12 Therefore their ways shall be to them as slippery ways in the darkness; they shall be driven on, and fall in them; for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their punishment, says the LORD.

13 And I have seen falsehood in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied by Baal and caused my people Israel to err.

14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem folly; they commit adultery and walk in lies; they strengthen also the hands of their friends, so that no one turns from his evil way; they are all of them to me like Sodom, and its inhabitants like Gomorrah.

15 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets: Behold. I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink bitter water; for from the prophets of Jerusalem paganism has gone forth throughout all the land.

16 Thus says the LORD of hosts: Do not hearken to the words of the false prophets who prophesy to you and mislead you; they tell a vision of the imagination of their own hearts, and not from the mouth of the LORD.

17 They say still to those who provoke me, The LORD has said, You shall have peace; and they say to every one who walks after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

18 For who has stood in the counsel of the LORD and has seen him and heard his word? or who has given ear to his word and heard him?

19 Behold, the punishment of the LORD is gone forth in fury, and the punishment will kindle; it shall fall upon the head of the wicked.

20 The wrathful indignation of the LORD shall not turn back until he has executed his devices, and till he has performed the thoughts of his mind; in the latter days you shall discern it perfectly.

21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they have gone forth; I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.

22 But if they had stood in my counsel and had caused my people to hear my words, then they would have turned them from their evil ways and from the evil of their doings.

23 I am the God who is near, says the LORD God, and not a God afar off.

24 If any man should hide himself in secret places, I will see him, says the LORD; behold, heaven and earth are filled with me, says the LORD of hosts.

25 I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed a dream.

26 How long shall there be in the mouth of the false prophets, prophecies of lies? prophecies of the deceit of their own heart?

27 Who think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name and served Baal.

28 The prophet who sees a dream, let him tell a dream; but he who has my words, let him speak my words faithfully. Why do you mix chaff with the wheat? says the LORD.

29 Behold, my words issue like a fire, says the LORD, and like a hammer which breaks the rock in pieces.

30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, who steal my words, every one from his neighbor.

31 Behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, who pervert their tongues, and say, Thus says the LORD.

32 Behold, I am against the prophets who see false dreams, says the LORD, and tell them, and lead my people astray by their lies and their wantonness; yet I did not command them nor send them; so they do not profit this people at all.

33 land when this people, or a prophet or a priest, shall ask you, and say to you, What is the word of the LORD? you shall say to them, This is the word of the LORD: I will utterly uproot you, says the LORD.

34 And as for the prophet or the priest or the people who shall speak the word of the LORD, I will punish that man and his house.

35 Thus shall you say every one to his neighbor, and every one to his brother: What has the LORD answered? and, What has the LORD spoken?

36 And the words of the LORD you shall mention no more; for every man's word shall be to him his prophecy, for you pervert the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God.

37 Thus shall you say to that person: What has the LORD answered you? and, What has the LORD spoken?

38 But if you speak the word of the LORD, therefore, thus says the LORD: Because you have said this word, The words of the LORD, and I have sent you, saying, You shall not say, The words of the LORD;

39 Therefore, behold, I will surely remove you, and I will cast you away, both you and the city that I gave to you and your fathers;

40 And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame which shall not be forgotten.

1 — Горе пастухам, которые губят и разгоняют овец Моего стада! — возвещает Господь.

2 Поэтому так говорит Господь, Бог Израиля, пастухам, которые пасут Мой народ: — Это вы рассеяли Мою отару, разогнали ее и не позаботились о ней, и Я накажу вас за ваши злодеяния, — возвещает Господь. —

3 Я Сам соберу уцелевших из Моей отары со всех стран, куда Я их изгнал, и верну их в их загоны, где они будут плодиться и размножаться.

4 Я поставлю над ними пастухов, которые будут пасти их, и они больше не будут знать ни страха, ни трепета, и не будут больше пропадать, — возвещает Господь.

5 — Непременно настанут дни, — возвещает Господь, — когда Я воздвигну для Давида праведную Ветвь, Царя, Который будет править мудро и вершить в стране справедливость и правосудие.

6 В Его дни Иуда будет спасен и Израиль будет жить в безопасности. Вот имя, которым Его назовут: «Господь — наша праведность».

7 — Итак, непременно настанут дни, — возвещает Господь, — когда не будут больше говорить: «Верно, как и то, что жив Господь, Который вывел израильтян из Египта»,

8 а будут говорить: «Верно, как и то, что жив Господь, Который вывел и привел потомков дома Израиля из северных земель и из всех стран, куда Он изгнал их». Тогда они будут жить в своей земле.

9 О пророках. Сердце во мне разрывается, все мои кости дрожат. Я словно пьяный, как человек, которого одолело вино. И это из-за Господа, из-за Его святых слов.

10 Земля полна распутников, поэтому она высыхает под проклятием, и пастбища сгорели в пустыне. Путь их зол, и их сила — несправедлива.

11 — Пророки и священники — безбожники; даже в Моем доме нахожу Я их беззакония, — возвещает Господь. —

12 За это их путь станет скользким; они будут ввергнуты во тьму и там упадут. Я нашлю на них беду, когда придет год их наказания, — возвещает Господь. —

13 В самарийских пророках Я вижу нечто отвратительное: именем Баала они пророчествовали и сбили с пути народ Мой Израиль.

14 И в пророках Иерусалима Я вижу нечто ужасное: они изменяют, живут во лжи и руки злодеев поддерживают, чтобы никто не отвратился от злодейства. Все они стали Мне, как Содом, жители Иерусалима — как Гоморра.

15 Поэтому так говорит Господь Сил о пророках: — Горькой пищей их накормлю, напою их отравленной водой за то, что от пророков Иерусалима нечестие расходится по всей стране.

16 Так говорит Господь Сил: — Не слушайте слов, что говорят вам пророки, — они обнадеживают вас напрасно. Они говорят вам то, что им пригрезилось, а не то, что от уст Господних.

17 Они твердят тем, кто Меня презирает: «Господь говорит: У вас будет мир», а всем, кто живет по упрямству своих сердец, они говорят: «Беда не придет к вам».

18 Но кто из них стоял в совете Господнем, чтобы видеть и слышать слово Его? Кто внимал Его слову и слышал Его?

19 Вот, буря Господня разразится яростью, сильный смерч закружится над головами нечестивых.

20 Гнев Господень не утихнет, пока не исполнит, пока не осуществит замыслов Его сердца. В последующие дни вы ясно это поймете.

21 Я этих пророков не посылал, а они прибежали; Я с ними не говорил, а они пророчествовали.

22 Но если бы они стояли в Моем совете, то возвещали бы Моему народу Мои слова, чтобы он отвратился от своих злых путей и злодеяний.

23 Разве Я Бог только вблизи, а вдали — не Бог? — возвещает Господь. —

24 Разве может кто-нибудь спрятаться в укромном месте, чтобы Я его не увидел? — возвещает Господь. — Разве не Я наполняю небо и землю? — возвещает Господь.

25 — Я слышал, что говорят пророки, которые пророчествуют от Моего имени ложь. Они говорят: «Я видел сон! Я видел сон!»

26 Как долго будет это продолжаться? Исправятся ли сердца пророков, которые пророчествуют ложь и обман своего сердца?

27 Они думают, что сны, которые они рассказывают друг другу, заставят Мой народ забыть Мое имя, как их отцы забыли Мое имя из-за поклонения Баалу.

28 Пусть тот пророк, который видел сон, рассказывает его как сон, а тот, у кого Мое слово, передает его верно. Что общего у мякины с зерном? — возвещает Господь. —

29 Разве Мое слово не подобно огню, — возвещает Господь, — и молоту, что раскалывает скалу?

30 Потому Я против пророков, — возвещает Господь, — что крадут друг у друга Мои слова.

31 Да, Я против пророков, — возвещает Господь, — что болтают своим языком, заявляя: «Господь возвещает».

32 Да, Я против тех, кто пророчествует лживые сны, — возвещает Господь. — Они рассказывают свои сны и сбивают Мой народ с пути своими обманами и безрассудством, хотя Я не посылал их и не повелевал им. Они не приносят этому народу ни малейшей пользы, — возвещает Господь.

33 Если кто-нибудь из народа, пророк или священник спросят тебя: «Каким пророчеством обременил тебя Господь?» — отвечай: «Вы — Мое бремя. Я вас покину, — возвещает Господь».

34 Если пророк, священник или кто-нибудь из народа скажет: «Вот бремя от Господа», то Я накажу этого человека и его дом.

35 Пусть спрашивают друг у друга и брат у брата: «Каков Господень ответ?» — или: «Что сказал Господь?» —

36 но не упоминайте впредь «бремя от Господа», потому что слова всякого становятся его бременем, и вы искажаете этим слова живого Бога, Господа Сил, нашего Бога.

37 Говорите пророку так: «Что тебе ответил Господь?» — или: «Что сказал Господь?»

38 А если вы будете говорить: «Бремя от Господа», то вот что говорит Господь: «Вы произносите эти слова, „Бремя от Господа“, хотя Я сказал вам не говорить: „Бремя от Господа“.

39 За это Я совершенно забуду и отвергну вас от Себя вместе с этим городом, который Я дал вам и вашим предкам.

40 Я покрою вас позором навеки — бесчестием навеки, которое не позабудется».

2 Поэтому так говорит Господь, Бог Израиля, пастухам, которые пасут Мой народ: — Это вы рассеяли Мою отару, разогнали ее и не позаботились о ней, и Я накажу вас за ваши злодеяния, — возвещает Господь. —

3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

3 Я Сам соберу уцелевших из Моей отары со всех стран, куда Я их изгнал, и верну их в их загоны, где они будут плодиться и размножаться.

4 And I will set shepherds over them who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be scattered nor shall they go astray, says the LORD.

4 Я поставлю над ними пастухов, которые будут пасти их, и они больше не будут знать ни страха, ни трепета, и не будут больше пропадать, — возвещает Господь.

5 Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will raise up for David a righteous Heir, and he shall reign over the kingdom with understanding, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

5 — Непременно настанут дни, — возвещает Господь, — когда Я воздвигну для Давида праведную Ветвь, Царя, Который будет править мудро и вершить в стране справедливость и правосудие.

6 В Его дни Иуда будет спасен и Израиль будет жить в безопасности. Вот имя, которым Его назовут: «Господь — наша праведность».

7 — Итак, непременно настанут дни, — возвещает Господь, — когда не будут больше говорить: «Верно, как и то, что жив Господь, Который вывел израильтян из Египта»,

8 But, The LORD lives, who brought up and led the house of Israel out of the north country and from all the countries where they had been scattered; and they shall dwell in their own land.

8 а будут говорить: «Верно, как и то, что жив Господь, Который вывел и привел потомков дома Израиля из северных земель и из всех стран, куда Он изгнал их». Тогда они будут жить в своей земле.

9 My heart is broken within me because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man and like a man who is overcome by wine, because of the presence of the LORD and because of the words of his holiness.

9 О пророках. Сердце во мне разрывается, все мои кости дрожат. Я словно пьяный, как человек, которого одолело вино. И это из-за Господа, из-за Его святых слов.

14 И в пророках Иерусалима Я вижу нечто ужасное: они изменяют, живут во лжи и руки злодеев поддерживают, чтобы никто не отвратился от злодейства. Все они стали Мне, как Содом, жители Иерусалима — как Гоморра.

16 Так говорит Господь Сил: — Не слушайте слов, что говорят вам пророки, — они обнадеживают вас напрасно. Они говорят вам то, что им пригрезилось, а не то, что от уст Господних.

17 Они твердят тем, кто Меня презирает: «Господь говорит: У вас будет мир», а всем, кто живет по упрямству своих сердец, они говорят: «Беда не придет к вам».

18 For who has stood in the counsel of the LORD and has seen him and heard his word? or who has given ear to his word and heard him?

18 Но кто из них стоял в совете Господнем, чтобы видеть и слышать слово Его? Кто внимал Его слову и слышал Его?

19 Behold, the punishment of the LORD is gone forth in fury, and the punishment will kindle; it shall fall upon the head of the wicked.

19 Вот, буря Господня разразится яростью, сильный смерч закружится над головами нечестивых.

21 Я этих пророков не посылал, а они прибежали; Я с ними не говорил, а они пророчествовали.

22 But if they had stood in my counsel and had caused my people to hear my words, then they would have turned them from their evil ways and from the evil of their doings.

22 Но если бы они стояли в Моем совете, то возвещали бы Моему народу Мои слова, чтобы он отвратился от своих злых путей и злодеяний.

23 I am the God who is near, says the LORD God, and not a God afar off.

23 Разве Я Бог только вблизи, а вдали — не Бог? — возвещает Господь. —

24 If any man should hide himself in secret places, I will see him, says the LORD; behold, heaven and earth are filled with me, says the LORD of hosts.

24 Разве может кто-нибудь спрятаться в укромном месте, чтобы Я его не увидел? — возвещает Господь. — Разве не Я наполняю небо и землю? — возвещает Господь.

25 I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed a dream.

25 — Я слышал, что говорят пророки, которые пророчествуют от Моего имени ложь. Они говорят: «Я видел сон! Я видел сон!»

26 How long shall there be in the mouth of the false prophets, prophecies of lies? prophecies of the deceit of their own heart?

26 Как долго будет это продолжаться? Исправятся ли сердца пророков, которые пророчествуют ложь и обман своего сердца?

27 Who think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name and served Baal.

27 Они думают, что сны, которые они рассказывают друг другу, заставят Мой народ забыть Мое имя, как их отцы забыли Мое имя из-за поклонения Баалу.

31 Behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, who pervert their tongues, and say, Thus says the LORD.

31 Да, Я против пророков, — возвещает Господь, — что болтают своим языком, заявляя: «Господь возвещает».

32 Behold, I am against the prophets who see false dreams, says the LORD, and tell them, and lead my people astray by their lies and their wantonness; yet I did not command them nor send them; so they do not profit this people at all.

33 land when this people, or a prophet or a priest, shall ask you, and say to you, What is the word of the LORD? you shall say to them, This is the word of the LORD: I will utterly uproot you, says the LORD.

33 Если кто-нибудь из народа, пророк или священник спросят тебя: «Каким пророчеством обременил тебя Господь?» — отвечай: «Вы — Мое бремя. Я вас покину, — возвещает Господь».

34 And as for the prophet or the priest or the people who shall speak the word of the LORD, I will punish that man and his house.

34 Если пророк, священник или кто-нибудь из народа скажет: «Вот бремя от Господа», то Я накажу этого человека и его дом.

35 Thus shall you say every one to his neighbor, and every one to his brother: What has the LORD answered? and, What has the LORD spoken?

35 Пусть спрашивают друг у друга и брат у брата: «Каков Господень ответ?» — или: «Что сказал Господь?» —

36 And the words of the LORD you shall mention no more; for every man's word shall be to him his prophecy, for you pervert the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God.

36 но не упоминайте впредь «бремя от Господа», потому что слова всякого становятся его бременем, и вы искажаете этим слова живого Бога, Господа Сил, нашего Бога.

37 Thus shall you say to that person: What has the LORD answered you? and, What has the LORD spoken?

37 Говорите пророку так: «Что тебе ответил Господь?» — или: «Что сказал Господь?»

38 But if you speak the word of the LORD, therefore, thus says the LORD: Because you have said this word, The words of the LORD, and I have sent you, saying, You shall not say, The words of the LORD;

38 А если вы будете говорить: «Бремя от Господа», то вот что говорит Господь: «Вы произносите эти слова, „Бремя от Господа“, хотя Я сказал вам не говорить: „Бремя от Господа“.

39 Therefore, behold, I will surely remove you, and I will cast you away, both you and the city that I gave to you and your fathers;

39 За это Я совершенно забуду и отвергну вас от Себя вместе с этим городом, который Я дал вам и вашим предкам.

40 And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame which shall not be forgotten.

40 Я покрою вас позором навеки — бесчестием навеки, которое не позабудется».
