Chapter 22

1 MOREOVER the word of the LORD came to me, saying.

2 Now, Son of man, judge the bloody city and declare to her all her abominations;

3 Then say, Thus says the LORD God: The city where blood is shed in the midst, her time has come. and the city that makes idols in the midst of her has defiled herself.

4 You have become guilty in the blood which you have shed, and have defiled yourself by the idols which you have made; now your days have drawn near, and the time of your years has come; therefore I have made you a reproach to the Gentiles and a derision to all cities.

5 Those that are near and those that are far from you shall mock you and shall say, O you filthy one, infamous and full of iniquity.

6 Behold, the princes of Israel, every one according to his own tribe, were in you to shed blood.

7 In you have they cursed father and mother; in the midst of you have they oppressed the proselytes; in you have they wronged the fatherless and the widows.

8 You have despised my holy things and have profaned my sabbaths.

9 In you were merchants to shed blood, and in you have they eaten sacrifices upon the mountains; in the midst of you they committed lewdness.

10 In you have they uncovered the nakedness of their fathers' concubines; in you have they lain with menstruous women.

11 And one has committed abomination with his neighbor's wife; and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law in committing adultery with her; and another in you has defiled his sister, his father's daughter.

12 In you have they taken bribes to shed blood; in you have they taken usury and exorbitant gains, and they have deceived their friends by extortion; and you have forgotten me, says the LORD God.

13 Behold, therefore I will strike my hands together with anger because of the iniquity which you have done and because of the blood which has been shed in the midst of you.

14 Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I deal with you? I the LORD have spoken it and will do it.

15 And I will scatter you among the Gentiles and disperse you in the countries.

16 And I will chastise you in the sight of the Gentiles, and you shall know that I am the LORD.

17 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

18 Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross; all they are like brass and like tin, and like iron and lead in the midst of the furnace when they are mixed with silver.

19 Therefore thus says the LORD God: Because you have all become mixed together, behold, therefore I will gather you in the midst of Jerusalem.

20 As they gather silver and brass and iron and tin and lead into the midst of the furnace, and blow the fire upon it to melt it; so will I gather you in my anger, and in my fury will I melt you.

21 Yea, I will blow upon you the fire of my anger, and I will cause you to melt in the midst of it.

22 As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall you be melted in the midst of it; and you shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.

23 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

24 Son of man, say to her, You are the land that is not cleansed, and have refused to receive moisture, nor has rain come down upon you.

25 Her prophets in the midst of her have conspired; they are like a lion that roars and tears the prey; they have devoured lives with their might; they have taken the precious things of their palaces.

26 Her priests have violated my law and have profaned my holy things; they have put no difference between the holy and the profane, neither have they distinguished between the unclean and the clean, and have refused to keep my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

27 Her princes in the midst of her are like wolves tearing the prey, to shed blood and to destroy lives, to get dishonest gain.

28 And her prophets have daubed her walls with untempered mortar which will fall off, seeing for them visions of falsehood, and divining lies to them, saying, Thus says the LORD, when the LORD has not spoken.

29 They have oppressed the people of the land and humiliated them; and have extorted from the poor and needy; yea, they have oppressed wrongfully the proselyte.

30 And I sought for a man among them who would build up the fence and stand in the gap before me for the sake of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.

31 Therefore have I poured out my indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath; their own ways have I recompensed upon their heads, says the LORD God.

1 Господь обратился ко мне с такими словами:

2 «Сын человеческий, будешь ли ты судить город убийц (Иерусалим)? Расскажешь ли ты обо всём ужасном, что он сотворил?

3 Ты должен сказать, что Господь Всемогущий так говорит: „Город полон убийц, и поэтому время его наказания скоро наступит. Он сотворил для себя грязных идолов, и они осквернили Иерусалим.

4 Жители Иерусалима, вы многих убили, вы сотворили грязных идолов. Вина ваша очевидна, и поэтому время наказания пришло. Наступил ваш конец, когда Я сделаю так, что другие народы будут над вами смеяться.

5 Все народы, живущие в далёких или близких землях, будут над вами смеяться. Вы погубили своё имя, и сейчас смятение охватило вас.

6 Каждый правитель в Израиле прибегает к своей силе, чтобы убивать людей.

7 Жители Иерусалима не почитают своих родителей, обижают чужеземцев в своём городе и обманывают вдов и сирот.

8 Они ненавидят Мои святыни и не почитают субботы.

9 Они лгут, чтобы убивать других людей. Они идут в горы, чтобы поклоняться идолам, а затем возвращаются в Иерусалим, чтобы есть жертвы содружества. Жители Иерусалима погрязли в прелюбодействе.

10 Они спят с жёнами своих отцов и насилуют женщин даже в дни их месячного кровотечения.

11 Один грешит с женой своего соседа, другой прелюбодействует со снохой и оскверняет её, третий насилует собственную сестру, дочь его же отца.

12 В Иерусалиме за деньги убивают людей, дают займы под проценты, обманывают соседа ради небольшой наживы и не вспоминают Меня”. Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.

13 Бог сказал: „Теперь послушай, Я хлопну в ладони и остановлю тебя. Я накажу тебя за обман и убийство.

14 Будешь ли ты смел и силён в час наказания? Нет! Я, Господь, сделаю то, что сказал.

15 Я рассею вас среди народов и заставлю пойти по разным странам. Я полностью уничтожу всю мерзость в вашем городе.

16 Иерусалим, ты станешь презренным в глазах других народов, и тогда узнаешь, что Я — Господь”».

17 И снова Господь обратился ко мне с такими словами:

18 «Сын человеческий, бронза, железо, олово и свинец — полезные металлы, но если работник плавит серебро, очищая его от примесей, то эти металлы становятся никому не нужной примесью. Так и Израиль станет бесполезной примесью для Меня.

19 „Люди Израиля стали подобны этой примеси, — говорит Господь Всемогущий, — и поэтому Я соберу вас в Иерусалиме.

20 Работники кладут серебро, бронзу, олово и свинец в огонь, а затем раздувают пламя, чтобы расплавить все эти металлы. Так и Я брошу вас в Мой огонь и расплавлю, а этот огонь — Мой пылающий гнев.

21 Я положу вас в огонь и раздую его, чтобы расплавить вас.

22 Как серебро плавится в огне, так и вы расплавитесь в Иерусалиме и узнаете, что Я — Господь, что Я излил на вас Свой гнев”».

23 И снова Господь обратился ко мне с такими словами:

24 «Сын человеческий, скажи Израилю, что это осквернённая страна. Я разгневан на эту страну и лишил её дождя.

25 Князья Иерусалима подобны рычащему льву, терзающему свою добычу. Они уничтожили многих и набрали себе драгоценностей. По их вине многие женщины в Иерусалиме стали вдовами.

26 Священники сильно вредили Моему учению. Они унизительно относились к Моим святыням, не считая их святыми. К чистому они относятся как к нечистотам, они не учат людей и отказываются почитать Мои субботы. Священники не оказывают Мне почёта, как будто неважен Я.

27 Правители Иерусалима как волки, рвущие добычу. Они нападают на людей и убивают ради богатства.

28 Пророки не предупреждают людей, они скрывают правду, они не укрепляют стену, а только замазывают её дыры. Они пророчествуют, предвещая будущее, но все их слова — всего лишь ложь. Они говорят от имени Моего, но Я никогда с ними не говорил.

29 Землевладельцы лгут и крадут друг у друга, они обижают бедняков и беспомощных, обманывают чужеземцев и считают, что для них нет никаких законов.

30 Я просил людей, чтобы они стали на защиту своей страны. Я молил их починить стены, а также стоять в проломах и защищать город, но никто не пришёл на помощь.

31 Поэтому Я показал им Мой гнев и уничтожил их. Я наказал их за всё гадкое, что содеяли они».

1 MOREOVER the word of the LORD came to me, saying.

2 Now, Son of man, judge the bloody city and declare to her all her abominations;

2 «Сын человеческий, будешь ли ты судить город убийц (Иерусалим)? Расскажешь ли ты обо всём ужасном, что он сотворил?

3 Then say, Thus says the LORD God: The city where blood is shed in the midst, her time has come. and the city that makes idols in the midst of her has defiled herself.

3 Ты должен сказать, что Господь Всемогущий так говорит: „Город полон убийц, и поэтому время его наказания скоро наступит. Он сотворил для себя грязных идолов, и они осквернили Иерусалим.

4 You have become guilty in the blood which you have shed, and have defiled yourself by the idols which you have made; now your days have drawn near, and the time of your years has come; therefore I have made you a reproach to the Gentiles and a derision to all cities.

4 Жители Иерусалима, вы многих убили, вы сотворили грязных идолов. Вина ваша очевидна, и поэтому время наказания пришло. Наступил ваш конец, когда Я сделаю так, что другие народы будут над вами смеяться.

6 Behold, the princes of Israel, every one according to his own tribe, were in you to shed blood.

7 In you have they cursed father and mother; in the midst of you have they oppressed the proselytes; in you have they wronged the fatherless and the widows.

7 Жители Иерусалима не почитают своих родителей, обижают чужеземцев в своём городе и обманывают вдов и сирот.

8 You have despised my holy things and have profaned my sabbaths.

8 Они ненавидят Мои святыни и не почитают субботы.

12 В Иерусалиме за деньги убивают людей, дают займы под проценты, обманывают соседа ради небольшой наживы и не вспоминают Меня”. Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.

13 Behold, therefore I will strike my hands together with anger because of the iniquity which you have done and because of the blood which has been shed in the midst of you.

13 Бог сказал: „Теперь послушай, Я хлопну в ладони и остановлю тебя. Я накажу тебя за обман и убийство.

14 Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I deal with you? I the LORD have spoken it and will do it.

14 Будешь ли ты смел и силён в час наказания? Нет! Я, Господь, сделаю то, что сказал.

15 And I will scatter you among the Gentiles and disperse you in the countries.

15 Я рассею вас среди народов и заставлю пойти по разным странам. Я полностью уничтожу всю мерзость в вашем городе.

16 And I will chastise you in the sight of the Gentiles, and you shall know that I am the LORD.

16 Иерусалим, ты станешь презренным в глазах других народов, и тогда узнаешь, что Я — Господь”».

17 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

17 И снова Господь обратился ко мне с такими словами:

18 Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross; all they are like brass and like tin, and like iron and lead in the midst of the furnace when they are mixed with silver.

18 «Сын человеческий, бронза, железо, олово и свинец — полезные металлы, но если работник плавит серебро, очищая его от примесей, то эти металлы становятся никому не нужной примесью. Так и Израиль станет бесполезной примесью для Меня.

19 Therefore thus says the LORD God: Because you have all become mixed together, behold, therefore I will gather you in the midst of Jerusalem.

19 „Люди Израиля стали подобны этой примеси, — говорит Господь Всемогущий, — и поэтому Я соберу вас в Иерусалиме.

20 As they gather silver and brass and iron and tin and lead into the midst of the furnace, and blow the fire upon it to melt it; so will I gather you in my anger, and in my fury will I melt you.

20 Работники кладут серебро, бронзу, олово и свинец в огонь, а затем раздувают пламя, чтобы расплавить все эти металлы. Так и Я брошу вас в Мой огонь и расплавлю, а этот огонь — Мой пылающий гнев.

21 Yea, I will blow upon you the fire of my anger, and I will cause you to melt in the midst of it.

21 Я положу вас в огонь и раздую его, чтобы расплавить вас.

22 As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall you be melted in the midst of it; and you shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.

22 Как серебро плавится в огне, так и вы расплавитесь в Иерусалиме и узнаете, что Я — Господь, что Я излил на вас Свой гнев”».

23 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

23 И снова Господь обратился ко мне с такими словами:

24 «Сын человеческий, скажи Израилю, что это осквернённая страна. Я разгневан на эту страну и лишил её дождя.

29 They have oppressed the people of the land and humiliated them; and have extorted from the poor and needy; yea, they have oppressed wrongfully the proselyte.

29 Землевладельцы лгут и крадут друг у друга, они обижают бедняков и беспомощных, обманывают чужеземцев и считают, что для них нет никаких законов.

30 And I sought for a man among them who would build up the fence and stand in the gap before me for the sake of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.

30 Я просил людей, чтобы они стали на защиту своей страны. Я молил их починить стены, а также стоять в проломах и защищать город, но никто не пришёл на помощь.
